INJURED ENGINE
(c)1984 Imagic
---------------------------
This program intends to teach the rudiments of a combustion
engine make-up via multimedia means. Pictures describe the
layout of the systems and components. Text describes their
function as well as what could happen to them. Motion and
sound describe their operation.
A test run can be executed for a brand new engine or for various
milages to see the behavior of the guages on screen so that for
the next stage below the operator will know what is not normal.
Then a troubleshooting challenge can be selected to discover
further what could happen to the combustion engine system. The
sound produced by the engine is crucial to a quick diagnostic.
The repair shop screens (there are two of them) list the various
parts/systems, and each can be selected to find their working
condition. If one or more is found not right a repair can be
ordered. The troubleshooting challenge has a timer to tell how
quickly the problem has been found and addressed, as well as the
cost of the checks and repairs. The operator will know how
he/she learns about the engine when these are kept to a minimum.
There is of course no need to go through the entire list of
possible checks. Just look and listen to the engine!
To go from the engine screen to the various description screens
pull on the joystick, a check mark will appear on the engine
picture. Then the check mark can be moved around to select which
description to look at. Use Fire button to select.
Select "engine" or "page" at the left and right of the bottom of
the description screens with the fire button to "flip" through
the pages of the "manual."
CONTROLS
Controls are exclusively via joystick. Joystick in Port 1.
PS: The program can be loaded with the title screen or not using a
separate boot.
