THE GAME

Deep, deep down underground, Angus Fungus the magic mushroom
farming robot is digging for his life! Can you help him survive?

THE STORY

Angus grows his mushrooms in eight caverns deep beneath the
surface of the planet Sedron. It is now harvest-time, and he must
tunnel his way through the rich soil in which the mushrooms grow.
Here and there in the soil are boulders; if Angus digs a hole
beneath one, it will fall - with possibly fatal results!
Small shoots of the giant Quendorian wortweed - toxic to robots -
have taken root in some places. If soil is removed from above a
weed, it rapidly grows to fill the space.

As well as the natural hazards of the caves, Angus is hunted by
the Wrightoid robots, evil but stupid servants of Epple the
Speedlord. Angus can destroy the robots by digging away earth
from under a boulder, causing it to fall and crush the pursuing
Wrightoid.

At the centre of each cavern is an egg of the incredible Quango
bird. This ornithological nightmare has the power to fly through
earth and rock in pursuit of its prey - robots! When the egg
hatches, watch out!

In the four deepest caves, underground streams slowly flood the
passages with water. Angus is not rust-proofed! To defend himself
as he gathers the ten mushrooms from each cave, Angus is armed
with five earthbombs. The ultimate in selective weaponry, these
bombs destroy only earth, Wrightoids, Quangos and - due to a
small technical flaw - Angus himself. The timer on each bomb is
just long enough for Angus to plant it, and get out of range
before it explodes.

After the eigth cavern's crop is harvested, more mushrooms will
have grown in the earlier caves, and Angus must begin again, in
ever-increasing peril from his foes.
